    The launch of a new wine label paper by Paarl Labels in October 2010, could be described as one of the most exciting developments in years for the South African label industry. The paper, containing no wood fibre, hence the name "Treefree", offers everything a wine producer would expect from a premium quality wine label paper, yet without chopping down a single tree. The fibre comes from a 100% renewable source, bagasse, a fancy name for sugar cane fibre.

  • Withstanding the ICE test!

    In November 2008 Paarl Labels launched a new super white uncoated paper called "ICE". This exciting product, imported from Europe, offers the best in whiteness, brightness, opacity and a delicate texture. It was, however, the outstanding performance in the ice bucket that gave it the name "ICE". Print manager, Gavin Burrows, described its printing, foiling and die-cutting properties as superior. Aimed at the higher end of the wine label market, this new product is sure to set the future benchmark for uncoated materials. For clients who prefer more subtle colours, Paarl Labels can also add a buff colour to it .
